Charity Participation. A New Experience

It has been two long years, yet the looming cloud of the epidemic has yet to dissipate. The rampant virus has not only resulted in death, but has also significantly changed the habits of people around the world. While we put heavy emphasis on hand-washing, many people living in remote areas such as Cambodia and Nepal do not even have access to a drop of clean water; not to mention that face masks and alcohol handrubs – which we consider essential – are absolute luxuries for them.

Although we are facing more challenges and restrictions when organizing big events such as this under the epidemic, “A Drop of Life” will never stop looking forward. We will start our second virtual event “Water for All” on October 1st. This year, we will go beyond Hong Kong Island and walk through “Quan (Chuen)”, “Min (Civil)”, “Carry (Pui)”, “Water”, and the Kowloon Reservoir Group. We will be doing so whilst carrying our symbolic bamboo baskets as we complete the 18km hike and help local villagers gain access to clean water. Through our campaign, we hope to be able to raise 1.5 million HKD to build sustainable water projects in the remote areas of Nepal and Cambodia. This will enable us to help provide clean water and education on proper hygiene for individuals residing in remote areas who have to endure brutal journeys just to obtain clean water. We will also be bringing primary protection to fight against the epidemic and improve their livelihoods.
